Detailed Itinerary - Family Monarch Butterfly Journey

Day 1:  Bienvenidos a Mexico! We pick you up at the airport of Mexico City. Short ride to the hotel (about 30 min) and have a Welcome Meeting at 5pm. Afterwards we walk to our included welcome dinner and take in the vibrant vibes of the historic center. Overnight: Mexico City

Day 2:  We leave Mexico City early in the morning. Our first stopover is a visit of the Botanical Garden of the Cosmovitral. Afterwards we continue to our first reserve, Piedra Herrada, where we will hike up the mountain (or take a horse) to see the first monarch butterflies. Overnight: Valle de Bravo

Day 3:  We enjoy a more relaxed morning in town. Option to visit the markets, hike to a viewpoint and have an ice cream on the main square. In the early afternoon we travel to the mountains of Mexico. Overnight: Mountain Lodge close to El Rosario reserve

Day 4:  Visit of the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary El Rosario. Enjoy the forest walk or option to ride a horse up the mountains. There is time to do your souvenir shopping and try the freshly prepared local cuisine. Free afternoon to enjoy the family friendly facilities of our hotel. Safe some energy for the bonfire evening. Overnight: Mountain Lodge close to El Rosario reserve

Day 5:  We are leaving the mountains. But before we have a short visit of the colorful murals of Angangueo and a beautiful last hike at the Sierra Chincua Butterfly Sanctuary. After all these activities we can chill while the van brings us back to Mexico City. Overnight: Mexico City
